Holding true to its name, Norwegian Epic is indeed a vessel for the storybooks.

Norwegian Cruise Line accepted the delivery of its largest ship to date on June 17.

So what makes the 153,000-ton ship so, well, epic? For starters the vessel offers over 20 dining options and a wide range of accommodations, including, according to Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian's CEO, the largest suite complex at sea.

Norwegian Epic will depart St. Nazaire, France, the evening of June 17 and sail to Rotterdam. From there she will sail to Southampton before crossing over to New York.

The ship will also host the venue for the 34th Annual Macy's 4th of July Fireworks event, which will include a one-hour, live entertainment broadcast.
